Eating Around Town: Il Buco Alimentari

This place is the newest local gem from Il Buco’s Donna Lennard.  Aside from the restaurant’s charming, casual ambiance and well-crafted Italian food (with Spanish flair), they sell the bread, pasta, and salumi right by the front door.  Great for groups and a sunny weekend brunch, everything on the menu is a safe bet, and the small tapas-style is great to have a taste of each.  The signature cured meats are enshrined in the house salumeria downstairs, so be sure to order a broad selection as soon as you sit down to take whet your palate for the goodies to come.  Fresh produce abounds, and seasonality is the focus of nearly every dish, with locally sourced spring ramps, asparagus, baby artichokes and snap peas to mention a few.  Sandwiches are definitely big enough to share, and the gelato flavors are too good to choose one so bring enough friends to indulge in a shot of each.
